Venture House

Project Name:  Venture House
Location: Stratford-upon-Avon
Client: Stratford-on-Avon District Council
Net Value: £480,000.00

The Council required the rejuvenation of a run-down office building that had come back into their portfolio at the end of its lease. The concept was to create a business start-up unit that would capture the attention of local entrepreneurs and create a creative hub for Stratford upon Avon.

As the budget was tight, Tandem looked first at the essential fabric works necessary to bring the building back into use. We then worked with a local interior design practice to create a fit-out of the building that met the brief of “not looking like another council building.” Working with a local small contractor, we created much of the internal fabric and furniture from recycled materials to create an “industrial chic” environment, that was extremely successful. The building was fully let within its first year of trading and continues to prosper.

Project Challenge

Our Response

Limited budget

Tandem looked to do essential fabric and structure repairs and then create a high quality interior from recycled materials to keep costs to a minimum.

The Council’s IT department wanted to influence the final project outcome

We worked hard to understand what the IT requirements were to service the building and allocated sufficient budget to provide this, the department then had to manage their work within this price envelope
