Stratford College
Project Name: | Teaching Blocks Refurbishment |
Location: | Stratford-upon-Avon |
Client: | Stratford-upon-Avon College |
Net Value: | £1,850,000.00 |
The client required the full internal and external refurbishment of these two teaching blocks, to turn tired, outdated and failing buildings, into state-of-the-art teaching facilities to take the College into the next phase of its campus redevelopment.
Tandem managed the entire project from briefing, through the engagement of a professional team, design, and contractor procurement to construction and occupation. We also managed and administered the construction contract (Design and Build).
Project Challenge |
Our Response |
Stakeholder Management |
Given that this was a general teaching block, there were multiple users of the facilities, all with their own and often conflicting aspirations. We implemented a detailed stakeholder management plan in order to deliver an acceptable solution for all. |
Risk of Asbestos |
The College records for the building were limited for this 1960’s modular building. To reduce the risk of unexpected asbestos finds during construction, Tandem instigated a programme of opening up, survey and reinstatement during one of the college holiday periods prior to procurement of the contractor.
