St. David's Church
Project Name: | St. David’s Church Refurbishment |
Location: | Newbold-on-Stour |
Client: | The Parochial Church Council of Newbold-on-Stour |
Net Value: | £100,000.00 |
The client required the internal refurbishment of the southwest corner of the church in order to provide a new servery area and storage units. Other works also included the provision of a new accessible toilet, a facility the church did not previously have. The external project works also included tree felling and general landscaping works to the graveyard as well as the construction of a new footpath to help connect the rear of the church to the public road.
Tandem took the project on at the inception stage and has assisted the client in liaising with both statutory authorities as well as the diocesan authorities and other key stakeholders.
Project Challenge |
Our Response |
Limited church funding and overall budget |
A number of close client discussions and workshops took place in order to best advise the client on likely and possible funding streams. |
Achieving consent |
Due to the ecclesiastical nature of the project, a “faculty” was required from the Diocese of Coventry which effectively grants permission for construction project works to go ahead. This is the ecclesiastical alternative to Listed Building Consent. Tandem have had a close relationship with the local diocese as well as their lawyers in order to achieve the faculty and if needed, permission for potential extensions to the faculty.
