What type of centre does the modern church require and provide? For Holy Trinity Swiss Cottage, their ‘home’ is more than just a space to worship.
Tandem has been working with this north London congregation for the past year to develop the design and construction of a multi-purpose community hub with a wide range of facilities designed to support the church family and the wider community.
The project requires the demolition of the existing church building for a new six storey building to provide a Christian community centre including worship space and performance venue (450 seat auditorium), café, flexible community space, recording studio, employment readiness training facilities, sheltered residential accommodation for vulnerable 16-18 year olds (2-bed flat & 3-bed flats) as well as theological student accommodation (1 and 2 bed flat) roof terraces, cycle store and substation.
The project has this month reached the stage of being submitted for planning approval. It is set to be a fantastic space for the church’s work and an exciting architectural building.
We are appointed to manage the project through the future stages, so will be sharing more details on this exciting project again in the future months.
